My SEO Philosophy

Where to begin on something as all encompassing as rock solid Search Engine Optimization? It seems the most difficult part of all of SEO is actually explaining “These are all of the things I am going to recommend and do that fall under the umbrella of SEO and will provide huge long term traffic increases to your site”. I have handled SEO and SEM (Search Engine Marketing) for clients all over the world including Minneapolis and New York City who are looking to promote either locally or globally (or both with different shaped campaigns). The basics below are always the same, where it leads is individual based on goals, needs, wants and very exciting!

I prefer to think of true SEO as a holistic online marketing solution. There are many, many aspects of online presence best practices. I often start with a full audit of the Information Architecture and content of your current or upcoming website. The following is just part of the checklist I’ve created to analyze a blend of architecture and content. Consider this just Phase One of an all-encompassing solution.

My Broad Website SEO Checklist

    6. Alt Tags
    7. Site Structure
    8. XML Site Map
  2. LEVEL TWO
    1. Bold Keywords
    2. Keyword Density
    3. Internal Links
    4. Physical Address in Footer
    5. Title Optimization
    6. Meta Tag Optimization
    7. H Tags Optimization
    8. Content Optimization

Marketing Audit from SEO Perspective

My next step is to do a deep dive into the how the site was built, the current content strategy, social marketing initiatives (Blog, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, Forums, etc. etc. )and business models to propose other SEO/SEM upgrades such as AdWord Compaigns.

Long Term Goals

These techniques which I have specialized in all areas of over the last 15+ years, then are wrapped around short and long term traffic goals to build a sustainable, healthy online community which will continue to proposer as we build smart areas of SEO together.

Analytics to show & improve ongoing results

A layer that runs under all of my SEO skill set is advanced analytics which will show what is working, what is not working and how we can always be moving traffic in a loosely controlled direction to achieve the overall interactive marketing goals.

Keeping the ball rolling

The sky is the limit when it comes to connecting individuals and communities together using your (our) interactive strategy. Once things are done well and traction is being made, you’ll wonder how what you were doing online before. There is ALWAYS so much potential!
