Creating Student & Parent Contact Groups in ManageBac

Setting up Student Contact Groups

  1. Login to ManageBac
  2. Go to the class you want to create a student group for
  3. Click the Students Tab
  4. Click Export to Excel

  5. Open Excel and copy (Cmd C) student email addresses
  6. Open your IICS Google Contacts
  7. Create New Group (bottom left)
  8. Name Group (i.e. 2017-18 Grade 9 Arts)
  9. Find group you have just created and click the icon below
  10. Paste (Cmd V) in your student email addresses

Setting up Parent Contact Groups

  1. Log into Gmail
  2. Create a new message
  3. Type in your student names and in the auto-fill box. You should see their parent name pop up. Select the parent email.
  4. Repeat until you have all of your parent email addresses in one email.
  5. Select all (Cmd A) and the copy (Cmd C)
  6. Open your IICS Google Contacts
  7. Create New Group (bottom left)
  8. Name Group (i.e. 2016-17 Grade 1 Parents)
  9. Find group you have just created and click the icon below
  10. Paste (Cmd V) in your parent email addresses

NOTE: If a parent email is not loaded in Gmail, you may find it by searching for the student in ManageBac and finding the parent contact information on the right.
